Windy is a 6 year-old registered Oldenburg Mare by Warsteiner sired by Weltmeyer. Weltmeyer is considered the best dressage producer in the last 15 years in the Hanoverian Breed. As of 2004, 5 of 8 Warsteiner's foals have won Championships. The Swedish stallion committee considers Warsteiner to be a producer of very good type, elegant, long legged with very good gaits. Additionally, Windy can jump. A great all around horse.
Windy has been in my care since 2004. She is every bit the type predicted. I’ve liked her from the moment I saw her. At a 2004 in-hand show, she won Grand Champion and Reserve Champion during a weekend show. She was later listed in the year end USDF magazine as 5th in the nation for 2-year-olds. During her mare inspection in July 2006, the judges commented as to her type being desired and noted such in their comments when she was entered into the Main Mare Book as a Premium Mare. In 2005, she was bred to Don Schufro. In the winter of 2006, Windy started her training on the farm. In April of 2007, she was placed with a professional trainer to get her show ready. Windy has shown in several unrated shows developing her for her first rated show scheduled for late 2007. On Nov. 3 2007, she show at TLT4 scoring 68.4
Windy is a very balanced and athletic horse and always has been since she’s been on the farm. She is a very forward horse with strong engaging hind legs, all three gaits are excellent, she is straight, and her lateral work is excellent. In her shows, she is receiving mostly 7’s with an 8 here and there. She receives good comments from the judges such as: Well Forward, Forward and Smooth, Relaxed Strides, Nice Turn, Trans Well, Steady Tempo, Lovely Walk, Balanced and Straight, Balanced in Trans, Fluid and Forward in Trans.
In November 2007, Windy complete her first stadium jumping show over 2'-6" jumps without a fault, placing 3rd. She is clearly ready for the higher jumps. Trainer comments:”very energetic jumps.” “Excellent natural form and jumping abilities” “very neat with the hind legs” “She is a lot fun to jump!!”
Windy is an up and coming talented young horse that will be improving and will get you noticed. If you are interested in reaching the upper level of Dressage or Eventing, Windy is the horse for you!
